In order for a translation agency to succeed, they must be able to build win-win solutions with their clients. As the old say going goes– “do unto others as you would have them do unto you” applies. First, an ethical translation agency will be clear with the client as to exactly what they can expect. The client should also be clear and upfront about what is involved with a job. All too often problems arise during any type of contracting when gray areas exist. It’s human nature to want to twist a gray area in one’s favor. For this reason, it is best to leave gray areas out right from the beginning. It is important to be upfront and honest not only with the other party, but also with oneself.
